Sharing God's Word With Your Kids and Free Lesson Downloads

Yay! It’s summer. What a wonderful opportunity to spend extra time with our kids. Why not take some of that time and devote it to a family Bible study….maybe your very own special, personalized at home VBS!  Wow! Spending time with your kids AND talking about the Word of God. What could be better than that?

I have a couple resources if you would like to take a gander. There are so many out there. Just a simple Google search will bring a myriad of options. I have listed some below that we have used at one time or another, and have liked them all for different reasons. Plus, they are all FREE and easy to download. What a deal!
Isaiah 54:13 “All your children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.”
Strengthen your child's character with these great resources. We have used them for our daily Bible time within our homeschool. They are super easy and I can tell you from experience it creates some great discussion. I print out the cover page for the lesson guide in black and white/gray scale. I give it to my youngest for her to color while I give the lesson. You don’t have to, but it helped her to stay focused. Kids of Integrity gives you a Parents Guide, Lesson Guide and Planning Tools. There is also a list of resources (books, movies, blogs) that have additional activities. This is one of my favorites for daily lesson/devotion time, or an at home VBS. You can make it as full, or as lean as you need.

Solve 21 "Who am I?" mysteries. Your family will identify mystery Bible characters. It includes a Detective's Kit with biblical lessons and activities. Your kids will learn more about the people of the Bible and God's Word.  Super fun!

You can get free activities that include: Bible trivia flashcards, coloring pages, popsicle stick theater characters, verse of the day, and family discussion guides. There are snippets of videos that can be viewed as well.

Bible Study Planet
325 Bible studies for kids! These are super easy, but also not very in depth, unless… you expand with discussion each verse they list. You can always add more to it, but it is a great jumping point. Each lesson has a Bible memory verse, coloring page, true/false questions, fill in the blank, word searches and/or crossword puzzles.

Kids 4 Truth Equip You Club
Fabulous resources for a great study. It has lesson plans, coloring sheets, and additional resources. They even have powerpoint downloads. This one can be overwhelming if you let it. Just chose what you want to do. Nothing says you have to complete all the activities.  This one can be turned into a full blown VBS if you so desire. You can even register your own “club” too.

You Version Bible App
This app has reading plans for youth and families. Some include a short video. Good discussion points. Some topics last 3 days and some can go up to a month.
Proverbs 22:6  “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Many people get caught in the mindset that the church is enough, or even that it is responsible for leading the children/youth into a relationship with the Lord.  Let's just get this straight right here and now:  Faith starts at home and should continue there - daily.  Don't rely on the church to do the part of the parent. The church is a great support system and very much needed. Yes, we should gather together as God instructed(Heb 10:25), but I encourage you to take time out and sit down with your kids.

Training our children is essential. To train means to mold the character, to instruct, prepare, point in an exact direction over a period of time. Our children are in our homes for just a short time.  We need to take that time to mold and prepare them.

Share the love and wisdom of God with them. Equip them with the Word so they can go out everyday and do, be and say what God has for them in all areas of their life. Don’t underestimate the power and influence you have in your child(ren)’s spiritual life.
